Ahoy Me Hearties

Hello, I really had some fun with this layout which looks nothing like I imagined it would when I started!! I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme to get me started and solved the CSI challenge case file  #259 as well as Golden Globe stash challenge from Scrap Our Stash. Thanks to the three blog sites for their fabulous inspiration and their design teams for sharing their fabulous projects.

Here is my layout – with a photo of my grandchildren playing “pirates” with the swing set converted to a pirate ship complete with rigging and a flag. You have to love their imagination!!  DSC04403I was inspired by the colours in the SOS moodboard  and have included the word friend in my journal tag.

I have solved the  CSI challenge by using the colour scheme from the scene, a map (treasure map under my journalling) a white background and stamping. The children were on school vacation when they came to play at our place.

My layout was based around this great sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

  1. Ah this really made me SMILE! Not just because of the cute photograph, but your design and use of our colour palette is just spot on! Your stamping looks amazing and I have to say, I LOVE how you’ve tucked the two corners into your base page! Very unique concept!
Thanks for joining us at CSI!

  2. What a fun take on all the different challenges. I really like the background work with the stamping and inking. I love how that orange mesh creates lots of texture. Those skull & bone embellishments are perfect for the pirate theme. The title work looks nice as well. Great job. TFS.
