Off the Rails February Challenge

This month, the challenge over at Off the Rails is to add texture and colour – a fun challenge. I have used colour blast shimmer dust to create a vibrant orange and yellow background over cotton muslin. I have also used texture paste through a mask, twine, gutter guard, corrugated card , embossed card stock and stitching to create texture.

Thanks for the challenge and to the design team for their inspiration.

Here is my page. I was inspired by the colours in the CSI challenge and the tropical vibe of the moodboard. I have used a solid white background, flowers, leaves, rub ons from the evidence clues and a summer memory from the testimony

Cherish – January challenges

Wow, I love the colour Bayou blue and this month’s moodboard over at White with1. I was also inspired by the bowl of m&ms and used the circular rose stencil and then painted over that in watercolour stripes using the striped fabric bolts as inspiration.

Thanks for this great challenge. Here is my take.

The studio challenge – Jan 14

The mid-month challenge over at The studio challenge is to use snowflakes. Although we live in a tropical climate many of the Christmas themed store promotions are “winter wonderland” based. ย So I have used this photo of my grandchildren sitting on a polar bear seat in front of “snow” covered trees. I have included a few red coloured snow flakes amongst the collectables in the wreath.

February- Artartic Art Inspiration Challenge

The 3 women having fun in the artwork on the plate inspired my choice of photograph and background colour. I used Colourblast mica powder and shimmer dust to create the blue background and then applied white paint through a 13@rts stencil to give a spotted effect like the girls blue skirt. My embellishments ( Cocoa Vanilla) are multicoloured -inspired by the girls’ clothing.

This is such a fun challenge. Head over to the blog and give this months challenge a go!!

CSI case file 246

What a fun case to solve with these fabulous inspiration prompts. I have used the main prompt of Alice – the name my grand daughter gave to her new bunny ( A replacement for Jemima) but also used soft beige, blue and red tones. Thanks to the design team for their inspiration.DSC03087
