What a sweet moodboard. I have been inspired by the colour , the tutu, the stars and the coat hanger for my layout. Unfortunately the colour hasn’t photographed so well

The Challenge at ARTastic this month:
We are working with this amazing artwork by John Maitland called Seven Girls Running.
CRITERIA – GIRLS ONLY
http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au
I love this painting and was inspired by the colours as well as the feel of the girls running. Although she is skating there is a feeling of the movement in the left hand photo of my granddaughter. I really enjoyed creating the background paper and used acrylic paints which I then sprayed over with white mist and a mask to soften the colour a bit.

Wow this was an interesting challenge! I didn’t really know where to start but my 6 year old granddaughter had brought me a pine cone to use for scrapping so I decided to use that to apply some paint daubs. I was actually pretty excited that I thought of a way to use it! Then the page just grew from there. I thought the colours and feel of the moodboard suited the fun and excitement of sideshow alley, so I included some stars and glitter to finish off my layout.

“Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors
I have used part of the title Best Day to include in my layout as it was our first solo trip after the mast was replaced. This repair had taken months to be completed to it was such a great feeling to be out on the water at last. The moodboard reminded me of a bright sunny day on the water and so I have used a photo of me on the front of the catamaran. My husband took the photo and I think he was really taking a photo of the boat but I am in the frame!
I enjoyed embellishing each block which represented different aspects of the day at sea. I don’t often doodle large areas but I did try to represent sea grass and shells in the left hand corner.

What a gorgeous colour palate, so rich and pretty and just right for layering! I have chosen a cute photo of my granddaughter dancing the night away at a friends wedding. I added the orange in a flower, microbeads and a coppery shade on the chippy. The stitching, inking and some of the leaves are brown and there is a hint of green in the leaves in the patterned paper.
Welcome to our May 2016 “White with a Twist” Challenge..
The challenge is to use all the colours as seen in this inspiration photo…
Deep Raspberry, Dusty Pink, Mint green and a touch of Orange and Brown.

This months challenge at SCRAPBOOKIT is things with wings.
I came across these photos of my grandchildren making paper planes with their Dad and thought that it would suit this months challenge. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for a great multi photo sketch – I love it. I rotated the sketch as I preferred these photos in a vertical line.
