Unstampabelles February Challenge

The challenge this month over at Unstampabelles was to use something new. I have used a new technique – paper folding /origami to make a card and envelop. The envelop unties to form a box in which the card sits. The heart on the card is a flap which lifts to reveal a spot for writing. Although this was a bit fiddly it was fun and I am quite happy with the result. Thanks for the inspiration

Picture This! Challenge, February

I am so excited to be guest designing this month at Picture This! Challenges

From the tic-tac-toe, I chose the right hand column: paints, mists and inks, journal strips and the colour red as I wanted to use a photo of a pet dog which was quite dark and I hoped the red would lift the page. He has been a very mischievous puppy and the “messy “ background reflects his past misdemeanours!!. The journal strip allowed me to tell the story in an area that was not lost in the busy background.
I created the background with paint smears , black stamping , white texture paste and black spray over a mask. To add more texture I have added insect screen, twine and corrugated card.

The photo is actually a flap that can be lifted to reveal some hidden journalling. The large pink heart is attached using a brad to allow the page to open.

I was inspired by the red hearts in lovely moodboard from Off the Rails, and  the colour red  and stamping from Challenge YOUrself. I have hand made the cross stitched button using red thread and stamped the large pink heart.

And also the tic tac toe from Scrap Our Stash. I have used the diagonal from top right to bottom left. Tag, hearts and a doily.
