The studio challenges – Feb 25

Hi, This is my second share for the month as guest designer with the Studio Challenges and the brief is to use kraft in the layout – either as a background or in the layout itself.

I have used a sheet of kraft card stock for the background and misted over a sticker title. When the stickers were removed I hand stitched around the letters to create a large title. I have also used kraft in my tag and the corrugated card.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Kraft Plus February Challenge – Mamma Mia

What a fabulous moodboard over at Kraft Plus, featuring ABBA. I was inspired by the words “Thank you for the music” and have used a photo of my very happy grandson  with his Christmas guitar! I was also inspired by the kraft and black graphics in the moodboard and have used some older graphic 45 papers.

Thanks for another great challenge and to the design team for their inspiration.

More than Words February Challenge

This month the challenge over at more than Words is to put a little heart in your art and the word inspiration is forever. I have used 2 hearts on my layout – one made of old book paper to symbolise my grand daughter’s love of reading as well as the love between her & her grandfather. The felt and lace heart is hand made. Thank you to the design team for your fabulous inspiration.

Kaisercraft February Challenge

Wow! the Kaisercraft design team have created some amazing projects and this month the challenge is to feature hexagons.

I have used some beautiful papers and collectables from the Romantique collection in my layout. I have also used a mini hexagon mask ( Kaisercraft) and gesso, kaisercraft paper roses and script stamp.

Dream

Hi, today I’m sharing a layout that I have created using inspiration from 2 challenge blogs – CSI case file #248 and Scrap Our Stash Blend-a-Sketch. Thanks to both teams for their fabulous inspiration.DSC03205

I have used the photo mat cluster on the left hand sketch with a vertical strip of textured background inspired by the right hand sketch and placed the title in a similar place to the right hand sketch too. I replaced the star with a heart too. This was a really fun challenge.

I have used the colours from the scene and hearts, floral patterned paper, leaves and flowers from the evidence clues. I have documented a special moment when my grand daughter appeared to be lost in thought.

I am also entering this layout in the February Unstampabelles Challenge. The new addition to my stash is the gorgeous Darkroom door grid stencil that I have used in the background.

TOGETHER

Hi, I am combining 2 challenges with this layout – Challenge YOUrself  #50 moodboard and the moodboard from Creative Embellishments

Thanks to both design teams for their wonderful inspiration.

Here is my take

This month the moodboard challenge over at Challenge YOUrself contains many shades of pink and hearts. I wanted to scrap this photo of myself and my husband so I have used a black background and kraft tones with the pink to suit the mood of the photo   I used 6 shades of pink in the hand stitched flair – it nearly drove me crazy having to rethread the needle after each row of stitching!

I was inspired by the pink in the rose as well as the aged paper tones in the letters postcards and brown paper. I have used a gorgeous creative embellishment heart to highlight the photo , handwritten journalling and twine in my embellishments.

I have used lots of gold in my papers and embellishments for this month in history.
Gold#1 ~ February 8, 1895 – President Grover Cleveland authorized the selling of $62 million worth of bonds to J.P. Morgan in exchange for gold purchased from foreign investors, saving the Treasury from disaster.
Create a layout and you must add
GOLD paper and/or embellishments.

Together

Hi, I am combining 2 challenges this month with my layout – the fabulous sketch from Scrap the Girls and the gorgeous moodboard from  the Creative studio (Canvascorpbrands blog).

I have chosen to use a photo of my daughter in law and grand daughter – 2 peas in a pod!! I have used some beautiful Maja Design paper for the background and the stripped heart, scrap corrugated cardboard, hessian, twine,tea-dyed lace, florists mesh, chippie hearts, 49 market flowers,  tattered angels glimmer mist and gesso.

Thanks to the design teams for their fabulous inspiration.

DSC03203This month the sketch over at scrap the girls is about love and there is nothing stronger than the love between a mother and daughter.

The moodboard over at the Creative studio is also about love. I have incorporated various hearts in the layout and I have used tattered glimmer mist on the chippie hearts to give them a lovely patina. The earthy tones have also inspired my colour choices.
